Lost luggage - Our cruise ship vacation experience!

Lost luggage! The luggage that Delta Airlines lost was the suitcase with Kathy's casual clothing, underwear, stockings, and shoes. The suitcase with her formal wear did make it.

Don't put all of your underwear in one suitcase!

It's not easy to find decent underwear in Istanbul! The underwear is reminiscent of what we wore in the 1950's. Stockings are unheard of. We finally found some by asking for "long see-through knickers".

So we spent the first day in Istanbul shopping. We found levis in the grand bazaar for $15.00.

Shoes were easy to find.. and fit much better than what we have here. We had fun buying levis at the Grand Bazaar ...very good prices ($15.00 American) and colors that we have never seen in the U.S.!

When we arrived in Kusadasi, since we had seen Ephesus on our last cruise ship vacation, we opted to go shopping for some more clothing for Kathy since the airlines had still not found her suitcase.

We wandered around Kusadasi's back streets looking for bargains. And boy did we find them! Kathy was finding name brand (Versace, Nike, etc.) shorts and tops for about $3.00 each. They were probably knock-offs, but at that price who cares?

Many countries in that region do not allow unaccompanied luggage to be flown in so if the suitcase did not reach Kusadasi it would be an entire week before it would join us in Athens. It did not .. and it was ... and was I ever glad to see it in Athens.
